Felix Grundy Nichols

It is believed that Felix was born 1843 in a covered wagon while on the way from Kentucky to Missouri. He came with his parents on the Oregon Trail, arriving in Oregon in 1951 Felix's family settled in western Oregon and later moved to Washington State.
He joined the Union Army in Salem, Oregon in 1864. There were no Civil War battles in the Northwest so the Union Army spent its time policing the Indians. Felix married Sarah Duell and they lived near Albian, Washington and for a time in Montana.
